Six-stick chair with footstool, red oak, black acrylic milk paint
This six-stick combback chair is built from red oak and is finished with General Finishes Lamp Black acrylic milk paint. I used new designs for the armbow and comb (the top part), and I think the result is nicely balanced. I also built a new matching footsool, with a curvature that mirrors the chair’s saddle.
Like all of my stick chairs, the straight parts were sawn or split from straight-grained stock to ensure strength, and all joints are glued with durable but reversible hide glue, so they can be repaired if necessary.
